Iceland… a land created by ice and brimstone, and our biggest success story of 2011. So we meet again at Keflavik airport and stay our first night in Reykjavik, followed by a transfer along the south coast to the region of the Eyjafjallajökull. Right, that volcano !
We start with a lap in a loop, and then set off for our spectacular five day raid, on volcanic black ashes, past enormous waterfalls and mountain lakes, through shallow rivers and across the most recent lava fields of Iceland. Hot springs along the way invite us for “hot tub” soaking...
Normal laps between 20 and 60 km, with extra optional loops at the end of the shorter laps. Some jeep trails but mainly super singletrack. During the queen lap we make a long (optional) hike-a-bike climb through still-smoking volcanic cones. Of course with an “epic” singletrack descent at the other side !
We sleep on the first and the last night in a hotel in Reykjavik, but during the raid we stay in cosy mountain cabins. Bring a light sleeping bag. The number of participants is limited on this insanely great Fire & Ice raid.
The trails are technically demanding, but the moderate laps will allow you enough time to take it easy and not take risks. Very diverse raid !

Flights are unpackaged, to allow you to extend your stay on Iceland if you whish.
Included: transfers from/to Keflavik airport to the Reykjavik hotel. All overnight stays in hotels and mountain cabins, all meals (breakfast, pick nick buffet and dinner). The use of a special bike box for transporting your bike, GPS, handlebar mount, maps and walkie talkie. Luggage transport, technical assistance along the road by a biking guide, 4WD stand-by, VAT.
Not included: flights, travel insurance, drinks at the bar, personal biking gear.
